  • Shades and Requiem

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a change, pretty sure shades used to come back at some point.

But Requiem does nothing to shades just eliminates them and doesn't convert. This makes challenges like Charon's UW especially impossible because they spawn everywhere, take an amazing amount of damage/hp. Even Hades max reanimate will not kill past a handful unless there's only 1 Charon statue left.

Is there a reason shades don't convert to skeletons or is it a bug?

Shades do not convert to skeletons because shades are not skeletons. Not a bug.

They're ghosts I know, but wouldn't it be better off to convert them into your own shades? Shades are extremely weak and useless past cannon fodder vs a skeleton.

We could convert them to your own shades. I suppose the question should be does Requiem need to be stronger?

Shades even with a level 70 summon Charon don't really do anything past being fodder/small sponges for attacks. In challenges where it's against Charon, I guess you could maybe instead update Charon to have a lot more skeletons or towers instead of tombs. Requieum is really strong but shades do spawn randomly everywhere with a ton of health.Past Charon challenges its not too much of a problem because nobody uses tombs as a main building.

You didn't seem to answer my question.

Does Requiem need to be stronger?

I think requiem is already strong enough as it is.

And yes, charon's uw dailies are tough but can be won at higher levels. The worst daily challenges are the artemis and zeus cities.. something must be done in uw gods' attack to counteract artemis' and zeus's environments.

Requiem is strong enough. Thank you.

It's strong enough, but challenges do need to be updated to be doable if you're not superhuman/have arthritis or want to prevent it.

Haha lol this thread made my morning.

And yes Kupo we all feel your pain! But this aspect is meant to be one of the benefits of shades that. As you said yourself, they're terribly underpowered!

I agree that a couple of them are too hard though. But the final challenge levels are labeled lvl 150-160, so technically not overpowered if your expected to be 160 to win. Now of course realistically many people can do it LOOOONG before then, and so obviously want the resources consistently each day.

Really just a question of your philosophy on the matter I suppose.

One thing is that Resurrect also brings back shades though, so it's inconsistent considering they're supposed to be spirits. leroy in before nerf.

Shades are just high hp fodder that are unreliable for anything but taking a few shots. But Charon challenges as UW doesn't matter if your gods were level 160. They'd be thrashed regardless.

I pass level 160 charon in olympus and in underworld 😇

I like requiem killing shades instead of turning them into friendly shades. When defending underworld shades are the only viable troop against requiem otherwise your risk giving too many troops to attackers. I also like that Aphrodite charm turns them but allowing hades to turn them would make her lose this unique aspect to her kit.
