Does anyone actually think that centaurs were a positive addition to the game at all?

I also think I'm going to need to sell all my ballistas and throw them towards gorgon towers, the ballistas likewise were very powerful in the past, but now they are nearly useless against these Athena patrons. Thing is, even now with my current base, using Achilles and Hercules, lots of spartans, etc, I find my troops do okay fighting off her hoplites, but.. to explain better, think about when you're assisting someone who is perimeter walking, what do you do? most good assisters place anticipating troops to delay the incoming troops from reaching the gods. That's essentially what her hoplites are doing right now. They keep my troops and tower damage away from their gods, the gods are faster than troops, so the delay of fighting the hoplites allows the gods to freely walk around without taking much damage. I will say this is where I'm suffering through not having my 10th god Hermes, his temple would dramatically improve things for me. I will think about your ideas though, good overall. Aphro environment is likely necessary as well, even if they take down the temple early any spawned troops would at least retain the house bonuses, which is nice.
Listen listen please don't waste your gems on Adonis yet... Just don't this Athena problem vanishes after a pt and you'll regret wasting gems on Adonis for now

And also abt the Hermes temple thing is yes that's accurate but if you manage to have cyclops with your Artemis houses and Archimedes towers as well... You'll make it to getting Athena proof I'm sure... And also i understand that Athena just spawns and walks away being an Athena user myself till lvl 90... but gorgons will solve your problems as well... And The Ratio of archers and hoplites too
    Thank you

Yeah Adonis does seem like a waste, I will probably get Perseus though. I sold off half my ballistas and a handful of firetowers and arrow towers and invested in four gorgons for all four corners of my base, just far enough to avoid a single centrally placed Hera from revenge melting them in the first seconds of the match. Can't say whether they've made a difference or not, as suddenly I'm getting attacked by nothing but Poseidon and Zeus patrons. I suspect the matchmaking algorithm is more clever than simply matching by level, I think it also looks at heroes, buildings, etc. So possibly I was getting hit with far more Athena patrons, to hold back my defense trophies, because the algorithm picked up that my base, lacking in gorgons and Perseus, was going to be weak to her. I know lots of other games employ such algorithms, so it wouldn't surprise me, but can't expect devs to be transparent on such things, given they don't even provide documentation explaining how simple mechanics work in the game leaving it to the playerbase to figure it out.

I don't know what to do about the cyclops towers, without the cost scale punishing me too much I have stuck with just 8, which.. is just too few to make a difference, and given they require at least two hits on hoplites to kill them, and how slow they attack, they just aren't providing much value, although against UW they are much better, as skeletons are weak enough to die from single hits. I'll try boosting them more with some houses, though that could become cost prohibitive, I'll check to see how many ares houses would be required to get their attack up to 1000'ish, so they can one-shot the hoplites.
