UW What are portal 'bonuses' etc? Was it something disabled after release?

UW Portals/Cerebus have portal bonuses but it's not clear what they are. There's an area thing around portals when selected but troops still have to go in the middle of it to teleport.

Was it something that used to teleport outside the radius then got nerfed?

I believe what your referring to is the range of the portal. The radial pink circle is to tell you how close the selected portal has to be to another portal in order for them to connect and teleport troops between one another.

Thanks that makes more sense if it's for that. Wish it was explained they need to overlap somewhere.
