Suggestion to fix gorgons and perseus

haha true. although the fact they send up a flare into the sky telling the attacker where they are to easily locate and eliminate is another of their failings, or while I'm on the topic, the fact they can't be buffed offensively with houses is another drawback.Comment

not sure if you're replying to my suggestion or another in this thread, but I don't see how nerfing gorgon damage to gods would make slowpush harder. Yes it may make monogod easier, but monogod is already easy, and smart monogod attackers aren't phased by gorgons from what I've seen. Smaller range on gorgons is one possible fix, but I think I prefer Seaweeds above, allow the gorgons to affect gods but make the damage much smaller.
I doubt I'm just some exceptional attacker who has figured this out, because trust me I'm not that good at attacking, so I assume most have figured it out fairly early on. Still it confuses me when I attack base after base with 4 or 5 gorgon towers, an enormous amount of stone for someone under level 100, all maxed out, and I drop Hera with revenge and they all melt to nothing. So either people just don't care about defense and prefer having all that stone tied up in useless towers, or they get attacked often enough by attackers who don't know how to counter them and they actually provide some value? Not sure. But fixing their damage to gods would be two birds with one stone, it would fix Perseus' OP insta-kill ability, and it would make gorgons a viable crowd control tower as opposed to a massive liability that is easily countered. Right now I refuse to have a single gorgon tower on my base, because every time I do Hera either melts it at no cost to attacker, or often worse, Aphrodite knocks the bubble house off and charms it and it kills all my troops or severely damages my hero on defense. I think I'll take 4 cyclops towers over one gorgon, for the same cost I get 4 times as many hitpoints on the map the attacker has to waste offensive power on, I can spread them out strategically, and they can't be turned against me for much benefit to the attacker.
Simple ur suggestion is done : I quit this game because only monogod and hit and run strategys will work and I have 0 pleasure in this kind of attacks.Comment

They do enough damage by themselves especially when people don’t take them down. Athena and Poseidon houses are enough to keep it up on the map and melting everythingComment

Well yes I answer to your suggestion. In slowpush I rely on troups. And if I can't destroy gorgons with hera but gorgons still destroy my troops I won't be able to attack. In UW I stopped attacks around lvl 90 because nothing to destroy fcking gorgons that kills all the troops.

Athena and Poseidon do nothing to protect from Hera revenge. The only thing I've found that can work is Apollo houses in an Apollo environment, if Hera's revenge isn't high enough then the gorgon tower can heal itself quickly enough while it's losing health to survive a revenge hit from Hera. But I don't think one environment is enough justification for a poor design, because that would imply the only ones who should ever buy gorgons are Apollo environment users.Comment

That could work except that damage and range both rise and fall together through levels, so if you don't upgrade the strength then you also miss out on the range, and in that case you end up with a very expensive cyclops tower.
I like Seaweeds suggestion best in making the damage much smaller against Gods but the same against troops. It makes sense from a 'Lore' perspective. Why should gorgons be able to inflict as much damage upon GODS as they do upon human troops? Through this tweak they could also be allowed to gain benefits from houses like all other towers do, that way players could decide whether they want to tweak them with Ares houses for extreme strength so they could punish Gods with a powerful attack but in exchange the defender takes on the risk of a Hera revenge, or they could keep them weaker so they're only a threat to squishy troops but give them higher range with Artemis houses to make them a more powerful cyclops tower justifying the cost, etc.Last edited by xprs; October 12, 2022, 06:34 PM.Comment
