The next big thing in Underworld

The hate, from what i gather anyway, mostly stems from defense being super weak comparatively. Attacking with Underworld becomes much more enjoyable when you've unlocked all gods and boosted 3rd tier powers (but same for OL). Only two biomes are decent for defense. Personally, i think Portals are a waste of resources.

Yeah you definitely have to collect all 7 but thats kind of what i expected when it came out, i get a feel that the UW is supposed to be even more coordination reliant than OL. Needs more gods obviously, but those take a long time to make. Portals have alot of potential but i fell like they need to be more sophisticated, i’m not sure why Erebus doesnt provide a range boost for them.

I would have liked to see some more action around the 4 hadean rivers. I thought they would make for cool defense features, acting as central power hubs for the UW, providing large bonuses or perhaps even a spawn or shielding.

wait wut, if you don't like underworld you can just ignore it and play overworld :P overworld didn't change in any way by having underworld

i guess the only problem is the weekly challenges being underworld every two weeks, but devs said this is gonna change in the next update so yeah

Through extension, it did (in a way) take from Overworld. With the Underworld update, we added a kind-of-builder base equivalent to Clash of Clans (which is irritating). That means future updates will not necessarily be improving Olympus. Personally, it would have been better to add those gods and biomes to existing pantheon and allowed more choice, and thus more strategy, to the game instead of seeing the same strategy (with minute deviation) employed by nearly all high level players.

I, and most of my alliance, hate the Underworld update. It is just another game inside the existing game and is a pointless and unrewarding diversion from achieving your goals in Olympus. Everyone is playing and spending less, they don’t bother attacking the boring UW bases and hate when the weekly event rewards UW loot. UW should have been a separate app for those who do enjoy playing it and updates should concentrate on developing Olympus in the Olympus game. Best of luck to those who do enjoy UW, if things don’t change you may well become the majority as so many disgruntled folk leave for other games.

Lolz, all that being said, I'm super curious why the devs had Hades' statue boosting skellies instead of reanimate things? Like, why no reanimate at all in UW? Maybe making us wait for a Thanatos introduction ...

I think maybe cuz it's already in underworld, where in overworld troops come back to life as skeletons from underworld. But in underworld, there's nothing beneath it for the skeletons to resurrect from. It's already in the place where dead things go.

I really dont understand all the underworld hate. It literally takes nothing from the game. It gives you something to do while waiting for your nectar, and it supplies a second source of gems from level ups.

The only thing thats really off about it is that for some reason they have it set up so that you dont get ambrosia from taking underworld cities, which is slightly annoying. But, you also have to weigh that against the fact that you now have access to another whole set of daily challenges. Which is where you really make the ambrosia anyways.

That being said, it IS in it's beginning stages and has tons of potential if the future updates guide it down a different path than OL. If we see the same features of OL in UW (like houses and monuments for instance), then what's the point in having a separate-ish game to begin with? Just combine the pantheons into one game and eliminate the need for nerfing and rebalancing since literally your strengths and weaknesses are based on personal choice instead of game mechanics.

Hopefully the next big update involves the removal of the Underworld. Chock it up as a huge mistake, remove it and move on. The game can still be salvaged at this point, but it’s going down in flames pretty quick, imo.
