The only reason I even use the damn things is because there is no good defence against mono without them.

When you have people just drop running around with hermes then just drop 1v1 temple there is no real other way to stop them.

I hate centaurs and they're boring. But until more heroes target only gods first instead of kraken/spawns, and something is addressed about mono/hermes patron. I have no choice but to sadly use.

Even if spartan academy was reduced in cost I still wouldn't swap because they can't reach anything before dying/being lured too easily.

That makes a lot of sense, I'll probably end up doing the same in the future, right now only around 5% of people attempt mono against me. Thinking about it it must also explain why there's so much Paris in the top 100 bases, whom I always consider a very weak hero and love facing, as a slow pusher, but I could see him being useful against mono.

Yeah spartan wouldn't provide any real benefit, I suppose they can guard an area although I never found that feature particularly useful. Still think the cost should be reduced to a midway point between academies/archeryranges and centaurs, for bases in the 90 - 110 range they might still be a viable option.
