Yea Adonis should just spawn unit as you can easily counter him by not using charmables

well... if you're using a unit-based team of gods, you'll severely lack firepower by not using it. But you're right, OW can never rely heavily on units.

Honestly unit summoning gods ability only really ever good for distraction. It really ever do that much unless most of the base already gone

I love that skellitons summoning hero. It is so fast in sending new skellis fast enough and the number of skellitons that it outmatches hades and aphro. Also its sort of unkillable. Love that hero.

Hope they give something like that in OW too. May be adoinis ability should have troops summon capacity if there is nothing to charm or destroy. It should fire an arrow for summan location.

          Lets see what we get.

            1. Make his ability circle last indefinitely like pre-nerf theseus. Charmable units that step foot in the circle and charmed while uncharmable units are killed (basically like requiem lol). The range of the circle can be increased by green houses to keep him at the back. Make the ai prioritize converting troops first before shooting gods.

            2. Buffs to athena's summon hoplites and aphrodite's charm units. If these abilities are good for once, it might be a good choice to actually use adonis to counter them.

            3. Crazy idea. Addition of another unit-spawning god in ow. Have them spawn tanky and powerful units, but with a slow cooldown--strong when on your side, but devastating to gods when charmed which is another reason to use adonis.
this is actually a good suggestion.

So I've watched Achilles since the update and I haven't noticed any difference. This last battle for instance, all the gods were dead, just 6 charmed archers, and 3 Hades resurrected skeleton archers, and Achilles stood there throwing his spear at each one individually rather than simply charging at them with his sword to knock them all over like he would against melee troops.

Was it a failure to implement the change, or was it a decision to keep him inefficient vs ranged troops? I am enjoying his increased speed, and if top bases are anything to go by it seems top players are also appreciating it, as many have switched out Perseus for Achilles.

Honestly he should use sword when near a swarm of troops and use spear if it is only a single target nearby

Yep that would work. I figured it would be an easy fix to simply have him only use sword against spawned troops, because when would a spear really be useful against some skeletons or hoplites? Save the spear for the gods who are always running away from him. Right now I'd hazard to say that Hercules with some Hermes houses is more useful than Achilles given this issue. At least Hercules will smash a big group and move on, giving him some chance of reaching the gods. If there's archer units nearby though, Achilles will just stand there tossing his spear at them one at a time, every 1.1 seconds. 15 weak useless skeleton archers near Achilles? Better spend 16.5 seconds to toss his spear at each one individually.. meanwhile the attacking Gods give a chuckle and move on to the other side of the map taking down every temple in sight, while that 150M stone to get Achilles upgraded is wasting time tossing darts at skeleton bones.
