                Defensive play is the most important element of the game. Base builders desperately needed, and need to be encouraged at all costs.
                Any elements added to the ability to interact with your own city outside of battles is a huge attraction to base builders, which should be encouraged at all costs.
                Without base builders you don’t have anything to attack, or very limited creativity in what you attack.
                There are entire games and franchises that focus only on city building...because there is a huge market for that gameplay. These comments turn away those players that are the backbone of any building/attack game.

                  We build bases so we can attack, we need defense so we can have offense, this doesn't mean offense should get nerfs constantly and defense boosts, "base builders" may like building bases but that doesn't mean we should suffer on our attacks and lose the desire to attack. You can build the bases when their stats are low too but defense being op affects attacks. Anyone who likes building bases can reset a layout and keep building new bases. Also think the basis of the game you need to attack to get more resources for your city too, consider you don't buy gems and get gems from challenges, then you can't just boost weekly and daily and not attack, idk what you do but. And defending is depending on your alliance and your level and it is just if you and your allies want more defensive trophies you just heal temples if it is mono or place vengeance warriors behind their gods and annoy the attacker for more trophies, you don't really gain anything else.

                    When the defense boost and offense nerfs only make people proud of their extraordinary mind and how they build a base while all the fun of attacking goes away, what gets you resources and xp, where you use nectar and gems since you don't have anything to do with them except boosting after you buy everything and where the real action is. Some people might not like attacking and might just want to build bases and they are very free to do so, boosts or nerfs on defense doesn't make a difference on the fun you have while building a base, but it makes a huge difference on attacks.

                      That is the most insecure argument I have heard to date. Base builders respect attackers, and true base builders are few...maybe you have not even encountered them yet. Your mindset is so one sided you are not even open to listen to a base builders need from what the game offers.
                      I am not asking to make current defense options overpowered, but balanced. Base builders need to be able to defend what they design, and need options to occupy our style of gameplay outside of battles.
                      Did you know you can move those cool soldiers on your base all over the place just like a building? Villagers too! Let base builders have more interactive features outside of battles and they will keep checking on their city, and they will spend money to attack to upgrade their cities and their troops and heroes! If I could log in and check on Atalanta or Adonis throughout my day I would be checking in on every one of my breaks, but I understand them wanting to rest outside of that hot sun. Maybe a defense building that you can boost with resource temporarily that pulls us back in to boost every few hours would be fun! Something that gives us the ability to check in on our design and interact with our city, rather than just focusing on attacking someone else’s.
                      And if attackers showed them the same respect they offered they might want to build more varying cities for you attackers to hit. It takes a huge amount of personal energy designing snd altering new cities, and listening to all the defense hate only causes disinterest in helping the attacker base when defensive players always have to wait and worry about defense nerfs.

                        Wrong, it has a huge effect on my fun. I build bases to challenge the best, and want to see them struggle and sometimes even overcome my design. I want to challenge them, that’s the fun.

                          Give me the option to buy a dance for my surviving heroes to break into after a victory and I will buy every single one. Defense is a major feature of the game.

                            Where did I say I don't respect base builders? Also I really like building bases myself, what I said was everyone is free to build bases and it is fun, but it takes the fun out of attacking when you "balance?" defense with offense, centaur masses killing you isn't fun, and if your fun is on challenging them then it only depends on the boosts and nerfs so then i don't know how you decide whether if it is balanced or not, have the same defensive and offensive trophies, or you want half of your defenses won? or you want no lower lvl beating you? you want devs to boost defense so if you are lvl 120 a 119 will have so weak gods and won't beat you in 10 attacks then it is challenging? Or you think that you are challenging when people lose to atalanta surrounded by ares aprhodite hermes artemis houses or they lose because it is unreasonably powerful and fast?

                              All of your questions right back at you buddy. When it is “balanced” according to you, and all the centaur/hero hate but no one has thought to suggest maybe that Aphrodite house boosting all those is a little OP.
                              I am not here requesting any boosts or nerfs to current features, I am here trying to speak some reason against your (the) constant defense nerf requests.

                                I’m so glad you started this convo! Defense boost idea! Add an option to the market to buy temporary items. Golden armor boost troops health for 24 hours, food boosts add damage points, boost for towers, etc. let defense players spend gems to boost their defense like attackers use gems to attack
